We have tried to anticipate some of your immediate questions. Please contact us for further details and advice.

I don't know which area of Bangkok to choose, can you help?
Certainly. That is part of our expertise. We will talk to you about your workplace location, your need for schools, and your accommodation preferences. We will then advise you on suitable areas and show you available accommodation.

Is English widely spoken by apartment managers?
Yes. Most managers speak English well enough to communicate effectively. However, if you have problems after we have found accommodation for you, please get in touch with us and we will be happy to help.

What do I do with domestic bills?
Most apartment buildings will take care of the bills for you and add the amount you owe to the monthly rent bill. In the case of houses, we will advise you of the most convenient ways to deal with the monthly bills.

Is Bangkok safe?
Many expatriates living in Bangkok think it is safer than living in many European or North American cities. We will advise you about safety. We do not recommend rental accommodation if we feel there is a security threat.

Do I need to worry about flooding in the rainy season?
While flooding does happen occassionally, the water levels quickly return to their normal levels. We are familiar with the problem areas of Bangkok, and we'll make sure you don't get water-logged.

Should I bring my own furniture and/or appliances?
Nearly all apartments for expatriates are fully furnished. Top-of-the-range apartments even have oil paintings on the walls. Kitchen stoves and refrigerators are always provided. TVs and microwave ovens are often provided or can be negotiated to be added. Houses, hoverver, are rarely furnished. Let us advise you about whether to rent a house or apartment, and whether to bring furniture or buy locally.

How long does it take to find accommodation?
Once you tell us what you want, we can arrange visits right away and take you to see the places we think are suitable. It really depends on your availability. We only show you places which fit your wish list, so it doesn't take long. If you want to take your time, we will find a temporary serviced apartment in the meantime.

What about the contracts?
Most contracts for apartments are for a minimum of one year. They usually require a two month deposit plus one month's rent in advance. To cover the cost of maintenance most houses have a minimum contract of two years and deposits vary according to the individual owners.

How else can you help me?
If you sign up for our Destination package, Relocations will also provide you with a complete information package to study at your leisure. The package includes maps, information on opening bank accounts, details of leasing vehicles and obtaining a Thai driver's licence. Also included in the package is a complementary copy of Bangkok's Metro magazine, which features monthly listings of happenings in Bangkok
